Michael Rivera
Michael Rivera began serving on the Berks County Board of Commissioners in 2020.
He resides in Bern Township with his wife, Zylkia, and his children, Andre and Adriana. Rivera graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Bayamón Campus, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He later earned his Master of Business Administration from Kutztown University. Rivera is a real estate professional and a small business owner and spent over six years in the banking industry. He also worked as Assistant Vice President of Business Services at the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
His background in banking, business and real estate are key to his focused efforts on fiscal responsibility, economic development and workforce development for the county.
Community engagement is vital for him. He has served on various non-profit boards and currently serves on the boards of the Berks County Latino Chamber of Commerce and Little Acts of Love and on the West Lawn United Methodist Church Leadership Team and Personnel Committee, where he and his family are active members.
Roxana Volk
A native of Bolivia, South America,
Roxana came to the United States with an academic scholarship that enabled her to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management Information Systems as well as an MBA at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.Â
Volk Medical Solutions LLC is Roxana’s personal medical insurance business. The majority of the members she serves are Hispanic in Berks County and throughout Pennsylvania. Roxana enjoys volunteering her time to non-profit organizations, especially when her efforts will benefit the local community. Roxana’s many years of involvement with the BCLCC was stablished to inspire Hispanic entrepreneurship and provide a venue for resources and involvement with our business community, with the objective of enhancing their opportunities for success.Â
Roxana has volunteer for the Kempton Fire Company, Kempton Community Center, and Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. She has also been involved with the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) with the “De Mujer a Mujer”(Women2Women) programmed events with the goal of providing inspiration and confidence to Hispanic women.Â

Murphy has worked with various blue chip companies as a proven results driven leader, team motivator and sales closer. Murphy enjoys spending time with his family and he is a strong advocate for the diverse multicultural community in Pennsylvania. Academically Murphy holds a bachelor’s degree in business, an associate’s degree in business fundamentals and marketing certification from University of Phoenix.
